ONLINE WORKSHOP PROGRAMME

BIG JAZZ THEORY!

We are proud to present our new online 2021 BIG JAZZ THEORY workshops for girls aged 8 to 18 – where we dig a little deeper into jazz history, theory, key musicians and listening in a fun and engaging way.  The cost is £20 for four, monthly 1 hour online Zoom sessions, and we will run 12 sessions throughout 2021.

Saturday 16th January 2021 @ 2pm

The Blues – an introduction to the art form of the Blues and its influence in jazz improvisation.

Saturday 27th February 2021 @ 2pm

Understanding common jazz progressions – chord symbols, cycle of fifths and 2 5 1s

Saturday 20th March 2021 @ 2pm

Early Jazz – looking into (and listening to) the origins of jazz music and the Swing era, and the jazz greats of the time

Saturday 24th April 2021 @ 2pm

Women in Jazz – finding out about the trailblazers in jazz history
